Leigh Urban

Commissioning Grants Officer

Leigh Urban

Leigh's role

Leigh joined CJS in July 2024 as Commissioning Grants Officer to support the team to commission and manage a new grant fund on behalf of Scottish Government.  The Grant Fund is for the provision of a new National Voluntary Throughcare Service for people leaving prison after a short-term sentence of less than 4 years, or a period on remand.

Background

Leigh brings over 20 years’ experience of working in the voluntary sector, including service stand up, contract management and grant making.  Originally from Scotland, where she started her career in grant making administration, Leigh has since benefitted from living and working in a number of different counties and roles across the UK, before returning to Scotland in 2019.  Leigh’s more recent work with The Good Governance Award and another NDPB Grant Maker in London; funding projects working with veterans, serving personnel and their families, reignited her love for working with voluntary sector organisations to showcase the invaluable work they do across the country and led her to this new and exciting role within CJS.
