Released on Police direct measure

Police direct measures allow Police to address less serious offences without those progressing to court, in a prompt and efficient manner. Police may issue a Recorded Police Warning (RPW) or Antisocial Behaviour Fixed Penalty Notices (ASB FPN).

A RPW is used for minor offences. These are a non-court disposal and Police do not caution or charge someone who receives this. There is no monetary penalty attached to a RPW. An ASB FPN is issued to someone for specific ASB offences. This is a fixed fine which must be paid within a given time period to avoid any further action being taken.
