Structured Deferred Sentence
Structured deferred sentencing (SDS) is a community based intervention in which a convicted person is given a period of time between conviction and sentencing during which they receive structured support to address needs. If during this time they commit no further offences then they will receive a lowered sentence or complete admonishment.
