Preliminary Hearing/First Diet
The preliminary hearing can be considered a pre-trial hearing. When the case calls in court the accused will be present and will require to enter a plea to each charge – either guilty or not guilty.

At this stage in the justice system, there may be an opportunity to support an individual to tackle the underlying causes of crime and improve future outcomes.
