An alleged crime might be detected, or discovered, directly by the police following investgation.

Alternatively, a crime might also be detected by another source or agency e.g. TV licensing companies.

Community Interventions and Support

At this stage in the justice system, there may be an opportunity to support an individual to tackle the underlying causes of crime and improve future outcomes.
